What this service is
A directory of mapped graves that helps people find and visit the resting places of loved ones. Records describe deceased people and are published by cemetery administrators after verification.
Information we collect about you
If you create an account we store your email address, display name, language and sign-in times. We store graves you save and reports or corrections you submit. We do not sell personal information.
Location
Your location is used on your device to sort nearby cemeteries and guide you to a grave. It is not sent to us or stored, except when you choose to submit a location correction or, as an authorised mapper, record a grave's position.
Photographs
Photos are resized on your device and their embedded metadata (including GPS coordinates of your phone) is removed before upload. Photos are published only after moderation.
What is public
Verified grave records, approved photos and cemetery information are public. The names and details of contributors, mappers and administrators are never shown publicly.
Analytics
We count anonymous events (such as searches or navigations) without user identifiers, IP addresses or search text. If your browser sends Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control, nothing is recorded.
Your rights
You can correct your profile, export or delete your saved graves, and permanently delete your account from the Profile page. Contact the operator for any other request under POPIA or applicable law.
